Get ready for new a new report by Freedom House about the state of political Freedom in the World.
What color do you believe the United States (or your own nation, if you are overseas) should get? Green (free), Yellow (partly free), or Blue (Not free).
How would you rate the U.S. (or your own country) on a scale of 1 (most free) to 7 (least free). In 2008, it scored a 1 in political rights and 1 in civil liberties. Have we done better, worse, or stayed the same since last year?
Freedom is not a guarantee problems will not still form. According to the 2008 report by Freedom House, "The United States was ranked 20 out of 180 countries surveyed in Transparency International’s 2007 Corruption Perceptions Index."
As Bernard Madoff shows, we're not "the best" in terms of avoiding corruption.
Stay tuned for the January 12th release of the new 2009 report!
